The boat had been stored in a garage and not used for around 17 years prior to me purchasing it in 2022. I started the restoration in the early months of 2023.
Around 700hrs have gone into restoring her so far. And plenty of ££££'s.

My venerable Wooden Drascombe lugger, Findhorn, is for sale - it’s in excellent condition.
Originally built by the famous Elliot brothers in 1974, so she had her 50th birthday in 2024.
The hull was rebuilt in 2010 by Sydney Burroughs, new MK 2 larger rig and sails and new centre plate installed.
Work included total strip back to wood then glass sheathed over the decks and up to the water line, then repainted. Extra buoyancy was also fitted.

Caramelle is a lovely example of a Drascombe Lugger Mk3 from 1996. She comes with two mainsails, one is the standard gunter and the other is a gunter roach giving approximately 25% more sail area and the effect of a gaffer with topsail. 2009 Drascombe Lugger £3,950
The Drascombe Lugger is considered one of the most versatile trailer-sailer boats of all time. Safe, stable, easy to launch and retrieve and great fun to sail.
"Sapphire" is a really interesting example. the hull was supplied by Churchhouse Boats with the rest of the construction, 'home built' to what appears to be a very high standard. Everywhere there are indications of 'only the best will do'. For example, the masts are made of carbon fibre, the standing rigging, dyneema and the R & J Sails (in excellent shape) battened and colour coded to match the hull.
