Black magic from Stranraer on Loch Ryan. Boat in reasonable condition for year. Needs a tidy after winter layup. A good polish and varnish of wood. Sails all good jib main and mizzen. Can be sailed in any configuration. Has a new drascombe cockpit cover and a full cover but that needs straps. Big compass on centre board plate housing. No oars. 6hp engine could be available by separate negotiation. New boat forces sale. Or I would keep her but wanted a cabin cruiser

With a distinctive, deep blue hull Hengist is a beautiful example of a Drascombe Lugger.
For the past eight years Hengist has been kept and sailed on Ullswater in The Lake District. Each winter she is stored in a dry barn.
All the sails are in good, serviceable condition with no tears or repairs. The masts are in good condition.

A classic Drascombe Lugger ready to sail. Would love a lick of paint but other than that she's got a very little used Tohatsu (2014) 5 HP 4 stroke long shaft, serviced and winterised annually. Hull steam cleaned inside and out. MK 2 main sail and top mast and MK 1roller reefing jib giving a large sail area, both 2 years old. Iroko floor boards and engine mount and teak thwart. New galvanised swing keel.
Comes with anchor, fenders, bilge pumps, rollocks, oars and more. Trailer with quite new tyres and winch.

Bad points :
Sails old, (new set cost £885) rudder and centre plate rusty, gunwales need attention, blue gel coat faded.
Good points :
Extreme easy launch swinging arm unbraked road trailer bought 2015, new wheels and wheel bearings fitted by Extreme Trailers February 2024, trailer board with LED bulbs.
4hp Yamaha long shaft out board bought 2017 about 20 hours use with Yamaha remote fuel tank, fully serviced with engine service book and instruction manual and invoices.
