The Morgan Giles yard was founded in Teignmouth in 1920 and continued for many years building high quality timber racing yachts for prestigious clients (such as Britannia RN College, amongst many others). As GRP construction became popular the yard evolved and the Morgan Giles 30 was originally a one off, for the yard's chief designer's own use, but up until 1996 over 70 boats had been built.
