A chance to buy a beloved Stiffkey Cockle, Sandpiper is serviced and ready to go for the 2026 season. The Stiffkey Cockle is a well proven, pretty GRP simulated clinker with an abundance of hardwood fitting out including gunwales, seats, rudder, tiller and thwart. Built from 6oz GRP the Cockle is a sturdy, stable, spacious and above all simple boat to sail and handle. She has a gunter rig with a single halyard and furling jib on a Wykeham Martin system and tan sails. The hull is complete with internal buoyancy, stainless steel tabernacle and a centreplate giving a draft of 7" with plate raised and 2'6" when lowered. She weighs 300kg and is easily trailer-able, the mast lowering with ease.
Sandpiper was built in 2003 and is a multiple race winner having been in the same family from new. She has always been professionally maintained by the builders of the Stiffkey Cockle. Included in the sale is the option of taking over her berth on the Cockle pontoon in Morston Creek, where for the next two years she will enjoy a prime position. NOTE: this berth is for Stiffkey Cockles only.
